How this revolution started?


Bongour founders and friends Victor, Marco and Chris share a love for good food but what's even more important is that they share the same vision: Changing the face of gastronomy!

“Having had restaurateurs in our circle of family and friends, we experienced how difficult and uncertain the process of opening up a restaurant can be. It takes you hundred thousands of Euros and lots of time and effort to start something, only to find out 3 months later that the concept or the location of the restaurant were a complete bust. WHAT IS A BONGOUR GASTROHUB?

Our Bongour Gastrohubs are centralized kitchen facilities, each hosting between 6 to 10 chefs, which provide all the infrastructure necessary for entrepreneurial chefs to run an online restaurant.

At our Gastrohubs each of the chefs will have his/her own kitchen station, as well as shared professional equipment, so they can focus in producing incredible food which Bongour will deliver to customers.

The chefs on the Bongour platform are professional and amateur chefs looking forward to offer amazing culinary creations.

Our chefs are entrepreneurial and very passionate about delighting people with incredible food. At Bongour, the chefs are the stars, so it is important that their individual food stories are very present in their food and in their brands.


At Bongour, not only they get the means to kickstart their businesses, they also get the creative flexibility that other models can't offer them.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

If you are interested in running your culinary business from one of our Gastrohubs, just apply here.

In a few days after your application is received, we will get in contact with you via mail and initiate the vetting and onboarding process.

We will review your cooking, will organize your training (at no cost for you!), and will provide you with all manuals, materials and information necessary to start sharing your culinary creations at Bongour.

  • Our chefs need to be willing to accept Bongour's health and safety rules.

  • Our kitchens need to stay immaculately clean.
  • Our chef's are a family, sharing a joint working space. Our Gastrohubs are fun, respectful and open environments. We want to keep it that way.

COSTS?

Being a part of our Gastrohubs requires no upfront investment or rent.

At Bongour we monetize by charging a commission on the sales that each chef generates.

We only require a security deposit, which we will completely return to you after your departure from our Gastrohub.

  • WILL BONGOUR BE AVAILABLE IN CITIES OTHER THAN COLOGNE?

    Yes, definitely! We are launching in Cologne as our first city, but we plan to expand rapidly into other major German and European cities.

  • I SIGNED UP AS A COOK ON BONGOUR - WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?

    First of all, welcome!

    In a few days after your application is received, we will get in contact with you via mail and phone in order to introduce the benefits of cooking at Bongour, and give you all the details of the onboarding process. We will review your cooking, will organize your training (at no cost for you!), and will provide you with all manuals, materials and information necessary to start sharing your culinary creations at Bongour.

  • WHO DECIDES WHAT IS GOING TO BE OFFERED AT BONGOUR?

    Our cooks have 100% freedom to decide their menu.

  • WHAT TYPE OF FOOD SHOULD I OFFER?

    What you feel passionate about. Our only requirements are amazing taste and high quality ingredients.

  • WHO DECIDES THE PRICE?

    Our cooks decide the price of their dishes.

  • ONCE I'VE PUBLISHED MY DISH, WHAT HAPPENS THEN?

    We just need to validate it before it's visible to users - that is, to check that all the ingredients are listed properly, that the photos are all there, that your own profile has a photo etc. If there's anything that is not right, we'll contact you.

  • HOW OFTEN CAN I COOK AT BONGOUR?

    Our Gastrohubs cooks will be cooking periodically either during the lunch shift, the dinner shift, or both.

    For cooks outside of our Gastrohubs, they can cook as often as they want. Whether this will happen every hour, every day, or once a week. It is your decision.

    Every time you post a dish, you need to specify day and timeslot, how many portions you want to offer, as well as how much time do you need to expedite the order (this is important for us to determine until when we will allow orders on your dish).

  • WHAT SERVICES DOES BONGOUR PROVIDE TO COOKS?

    The cooks at Bongour only need to worry about cooking and spreading the word. Bongour takes care of the rest.

    We will provide you with training, materials, packaging, technology, marketing, and everything necessary to start your culinary venture.

    We will Thanks to our partner AXA, Bongour will provide all of our cooks with liability insurance (we take care of the cost).

    Finally, Bongour will also help you with your branding, will promote you on social media, invite you to events, and be at your side whenever you need assistance.

  • DO I NEED TO PAY TO OFFER MEALS AT BONGOUR?

    There are no fixed fees. It cost you nothing to start your culinary journey at Bongour.

    Once you start to offer food via Bongour, we will charge a commission on every order you receive in the platform. If you receive no orders, you do not pay anything.

    With this variable fee, we will finance the services we offer to you: Set-up of virtual restaurant, cost of packaging, trainings, marketing/promotion on Social Media, insurance, and of course our delivery service and drivers.

  • HOW DOES THE DELIVERY WORK?

    For every order you receive, we will punctually pick up the food at the indicated pick-up time, food which we will and deliver straight to the doorstep of your customer. Our drivers transport the food on bikes and especially designed transportation boxes to ensure we deliver your food warm and delicious.

  • WHERE DO I GET THE PACKAGING FROM?

    We got you covered. We will provide you with premium containers and lids to seal the dishes safely. We are able to purchase the packaging in larger quantities and obtain better prices.

  • HOW DO I GET REINBURSED FOR MY COOKING?

    We collect the money directly from the customer through our payments partner, a professional payment service provider. The payment service provider will take care of everything and transfer the money to your bank account, after having deducted Bongour’s commission.

  • HOW DO I GET FEEDBACK FROM MY CUSTOMERS?

    Every customer has the possibility to rate the meal they received and post comments/feedback in the designated section of your virtual restaurant.

  • HOW DO I ENSURE I AM IN COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATION?

    We at Bongour take food safety very seriously; in fact it is our guiding principle. We ensure at every step along the way that our cooks are in compliance with food safety regulation. Every cook undergoes a thorough vetting process, a mandatory training in food safety and kitchen hygiene with the local authorities, and additional training through experienced Bongour professionals.

  • DO I NEED INSURANCE?

    Safeguarding hygiene and food safety is our highest priority. For this, we've put in place a series of processes and guidelines to ensure the quality of meals served through Bongour. As we are an intermediary, the cooks are held responsible for any unlikely cases of food mishandling.

    However, there is nothing to be afraid of. We have a partnership with AXA, whereby an insurance policy protects all of our cooks and customers against any safety case related to the activity that our cooks perform at Bongour.

  • HOW DO YOU PROTECT MY PRIVACY?

    Your address information is only visible to us. Our users can only see the neighborhood where you live. All your private data is safely stored by Bongour.

  • CAN I USE MY OWN SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS TO PROMOTE MY DISHES?

    Glad you bring this up… The more you promote yourself the better!

    Post your meals, share your virtual restaurant site, invite friends to like your Bongour site and to follow your signature dishes.

    Furthermore, please invite friends and family to join Bongour, we are welcome to grow our foodies as well as our cook community.

  • HOW DOES BONGOUR WORK?

    Bongour is a complete culinary experience. Bongour brings to your door amazing and authentic gastronomy from the best up-and-coming chefs.

    Using Bongour is very simple. Just browse through the available meals (or submit your wish), choose one of the available timeslots, go to checkout, and place your order.

    Bongour handles a myriad of payment methods, and will ensure that your food will arrive quickly and safely to your doorstep.

  • WHO IS PREPARING MY MEAL?

    Our cooks are up-and-coming professional or semi-professional kitchen chefs, aiming to venture into the culinary scene, looking for the creative flexibility that only Bongour can offer them.

    For more information about our cooks, we invite you to visit the virtual restaurants section of our website, where you will find detailed information about each cook, as well as their personal culinary stories.

  • WHY ARE THERE TIMESLOTS TO CHOOSE FROM?

    As our cooks are artisans, our timeslots allow them to efficiently plan their order schedules. However, don’t worry, you will still get your food in around 45 minutes.

  • WHEN IS BONGOUR LAUNCHING IN MY CITY?

    For the time being, we are planning to launch our pilot operations in Cologne, Germany in Q3/2017. We are planning to expand as quickly as possible into other major German and European cities.

    We are happy to open in any city/community with more than 20 registered cooks, so if you think you can organize the cooks in your city, please give us a shout. We will handsomely reward you.

    If not, please bear with us, as long as we are not in your city yet. We promise it is worth it!

  • CAN I ORDER SEVERAL DISHES FROM MORE THAN ONE COOK?

    Sure you can! As long as you choose the same timeslot for all, your order will arrive at the same time.

  • HOW DO I PAY FOR MY MEAL?

    On Bongour you can comfortably and securely pay with a myriad of online payment methods. Major credit cards, as well as direct debit and Paypal are accepted.

  • WHO DELIVERS MY ORDER?

    Bongour offers a full delivery service. We pick up your order from the cook and deliver it straight to your doorstep at the indicated delivery time.

    You can track your order in real time thanks to our “track your order” functionality.

  • WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE WHAT I ORDERED?

    In case you are not satisfied with your meal, you should do the following:

    1. Leave a meal review, specifying what was wrong with the meal. We need this in order to take decisions about the cook permanence in the platform.

    2. Send an email to service@bongour.com, specifying your order number and describing your complaint. We will assess your complaint and provide you with a free voucher for your next order at Bongour.

  • CAN I PROVIDE COMMENTS AND RATINGS ABOUT MY ORDER EXPERIENCE?

    You can rate the quality of the meal you received, as well as provide comments or direct feedback to the cook who prepared your food.

    Honest feedback is welcome and for sure appreciated, but please be aware that we follow a strict code of conduct, specifically in the communication to the Bongour cooks.

    There is a zero-tolerance policy regarding insulting, racist, sexist, or any other form of demeaning and inadequate comments and we reserve the right to delete such comments and ban you from the platform.

  • CAN I BECOME A COOK ON BONGOUR AS WELL?

    We welcome everyone looking forward to offer amazing food at Bongour. If you are interested in being a cook at Bongour, please register your intention in our “become a cook” section. We will be in touch with you shortly.
